Often called the fastest-erecting scaffolding in the world, Kwikstage scaffolding is a popular choice in the construction industry. Its flexibility, durability and low loss make it suitable for a variety of projects. It's widely used in construction, overpasses, tunnels, bridges and residential homes.
There are four basic components that make up a Kwikstage scaffold. These include the base, the basic jack, the stage brackets and the braces. These components can be bought separately or as part of a complete package.
The base provides the structure with a solid foundation. The basic jack keeps the scaffolding stable and level, and the Castor Wheels help to move the scaffolding bay easily.
The basic jack is the lowest part of the system, and it is connected to the ledgers to create the working platform. The height of the scaffolding can vary depending on the project and the client's preference. For safety, the first level of the scaffold ties must not be more than 4 metres above ground level.
The stage brackets are the pieces of metal that connect the basic jack to the other components. The tie bar keeps the brackets tightly connected, and it also serves as the anchor for the 2 or 3 board platform brackets. The brackets are secured by steel angles. The tie bars have curved lugs at each end.
The other components of a Kwikstage scaffold include the aluminium staircase unit, the load-bearing sole board, the ladder access transom and the double guard railings. These are all designed to work together for safe, streamlined access to a worksite.
