There is an abundance of products to help with roof safety in the home or business, but a few are more effective than others. You need to be sure you choose the right ones for your situation. The products are divided into three categories: low-voltage (low-voltage) wire, multi-path (multi-path) cable, and rigid non-metallic roofing or rakes. We'll discuss roof safety rakes later on, so for the moment let's look at the other two.
Low voltage roof safety rail systems from less than ten dollars per meter, mostly used on residential building sites for accident protection while performing construction work on a roof. Suitable for small to medium-sized commercial applications in which slip-and-fall accidents are common, as well as mobile and scooter lifts. Suitable for both electrical and non-electrical installations. Ideal for roofs over ten stories. This kind of protection can also prevent injuries from falling objects falling back onto the workers.
Multi-path roof protection is usually made from multi-length rods affixed to wooden posts. Roof railings can either be internal, such as around skylights, or external, such as over garages, chimneys, driveways, and porches. Internal rails should have guards that are parallel to the ground or have cross sections that are staggered at least one foot apart. Non-motorized, electrically operated raking guardrails are preferable for applications where it is not feasible to install a motorized guard rail system. These systems provide maximum protection against falling objects. They should also have secure locking mechanisms for unattended, hanging roofs.
